Welcome to my CSUSM Teacher Credential Program site. I am currently in the process of earning my single subject teacher credentials in English and Social Science from California State University San Marcos. I've wanted to be a teacher for years and am thrilled to be taking this first step toward pursuing one of the most fun and challenging careers around.
I earned my BA in English Literature from San Francisco State University in 2007. After graduating, I participated in the BUNAC program and moved to London for six months. While there I worked at the American School in London in the Athletic Department and was able to travel to countries all over Europe. After returning to Southern California, I worked for almost five years in the office of an elementary school in Del Mar and fell in love with educating young people. In 2012 I moved to Seoul, South Korea to teach English as a Foreign Language to students ranging in grades from preschool to eighth. This experience cemented my desire to become an educator. Most recently, during the 2013-2014 school year, I worked as an AVID tutor at Earl Warren Middle School.
I live in south Carlsbad and enjoy spending time with my fiancé, and fellow teacher, Steve, as well as my dog Scout, and my lucky black cats Remy and Jack. Outside of teaching, some of my favorite things to do are travel, photography, ceramics, cooking, reading, and hiking.
